I've always had 4" belts and have loved them. Depends on what you're training for though & looking to spend. If you are looking for just a good training belt, 3" would probably be a cheaper option.

The question is mostly about my build, I have longer legs and a short torso.

I have a shorter torso as well (5'9) and a 4" belt always has fit me very well

If you're short waisted, you'll like the 10mm or 3" belt; otherwise, it'll dig into your hip bones/hip flexors in the hole. I use mine for all 3 Powerlifts and Pull the front of it up high on my stomach for the deadlift.

You have a 3" belt?

It's the thickness of the belt ya big goob =) The Inzer ones are 10mm or 13mm. They're both the same OAL.
Yes I know, lol. I was confused by your comment, so was clarifying you mean you own the 3" lol

I'm going to put this one out there. If someone mentions 3 inches or 4 inches concerning a weight lifting belt, they are likely referring to the width of the belt. Commonly available thicknesses are 10mm or 13mm. A quick conversion is 25.4mm per inch.
Decided on Pioneer’s 3” belt, looking forward to its arrival.
I have 2 Pioneer belts and my wife just ordered one 2 weeks ago. I love them. I hate how much you can customize it though... lol

When does everyone use belts? I’m a big fan of squatting and pulling without a belt, however I also realize that to stay tight through a movement, they’re sometimes needed. Does anyone have a rule of thumb or threshold when they decide to throw the belt on? Thanks.
I don't use any rules. Just when I think I needed it. Some times heavy over head press. Heavy squat. Personal I just like the right feeling and support.

Agreed! I use mine for Squats only and heavy over head presses once they become heavy during a training cycle as well.

What about when they complete the outfit though? I mean matching colours IS important. haha.
Im in the same boat. I've been trying to avoid using belts since i hurt my back really badly a while ago. It forces me to focus that extra bit on my tightness, bracing, and positions, and also keeps me from lifting too heavy.
How do you expect to run with the wolves at night if you spend all day stuntin with the puppies?

I hear ya!
For me, it simply feels more natural and I can get into a much better starting position. I'm also able to let my arms hang more so to reduce ROM. My weak point has always been above the knees so anything I can do to reduce ROM will help A LOT!
*I just can't slack on abs anymore! Been hammering them and they pretty much stay sore at this point. LOL!
