I did something similar for my last PL meet - minus the diuretics - and never again! Yea I made weight, for the sole purpose of taking a crack at a state record, but the cut wrecked me and I didn’t even come close to the total I was shooting for.

      Yes. Absolutely. Especially the newbies.
It´s mindblowing how much water a little pill can push out of your body within a couple hours. You can be feeling totally normal at 8:00am and fighting for your life in the hospital by 1:00pm.

I heard seen: Carbing up on a loaf of bread and muscle milk, pumping up legs back stage doing body weight squats, cutting out water on wed before the show with sauna on Friday and no sodium, ect. I could go on about many other things as well. The best is when you hear coaches laying out a whole 12 week prep diet. HAHAH
Hahaha yeah those are all good. I remember at my national qualifier there was a guy barbell squating for his pump up. For one, why the hell do we even have squat rack back here?! lol. Then leg pumping is a no no.

The guy was squatting like 225

This isn't really 'contest advice' but I had hired an extremely well known/popular contest prep coach, a 'guru' if you well. I won't mention his name because it's not important to slander, but I guarantee every bodybuilder in here has heard of his name or met him. I had been into serious bodybuilding training about 2 years and decided I wanted to test the waters and do a show. First issue was I was told I'd need to hire him for a full 20 weeks because I was too fat (I had a pretty decent 6 pack, around 10-12% bf). I was new to the sport and didn't really know any better. Then about 10 weeks into the prep, I started getting zero responses. Emails, phone calls, nothing at all. I was just on my own and I had already paid of course for the prep services. Good times

OH man! I could not even imagine being able to perform after cutting that type of weight. When I did it I could hardly walk down stairs I was so weak.

Yea it totally sucked. I’ve done a couple meets previously where I used a similar approach, but hadn’t cut quite as much, and they were push/pull meets. Last time was a full meet, and I was done for by the time I was done squatting. No more of that nonsense for this guy...

The very same thing happened to me, too. With 2 gurus actually. Both very well known... I paid the one guy 3 months in advance and never heard from him again after 4 weeks. The other guy I paid 6 months in advance and never got any response after 6 weeks...

You have no idea how much that bothers me. I hate scumbags and shady mother fuckers who do shit like that. No integrity at all.
