A messed up lower back (Messed while deadlifting), a broken nose & orbital (for MMA)... That's all when the mind is strong, I made these comeback in quiet a few days while still training every day.
I was told by doctors to stay off of training atall or I will spend rest of my life in a wheel chair or bed but my mind was alot more powerful to even care for any of that bull crap. I trained myself and over a course of 12 weeks my back was perfectly fine.

My dad used to say that to me when he thought shit was getting too much for me to handle. I took it to mean remain hopeful as long as you have breath. I wish you the best on your journey back!
About 1.5 years ago something happened to my neck. I took a couple months off from lifting. Couldn’t even load a squat bar. Doctor didn’t really help. Saw an ortho guy who only cared that I could work. My injury shut down my left rear delt , part of my left lat. my primary MD sent me to a neuro guy for an EEG. He only cared that I have carpal tunnels. He can collect a check from me for fixing that but my neck was nothing to him. He found weak nerve signals to parts of my left biceps and forearm too. Then he told me “not to be such a big guy in the gym” I was so pissed for weeks. I found a PL meet 3 months out and competed just to spite him. I did what I could. My left rear felt is still flat. I’ve built back strength there though. Heavy rows are out still. I have some biceps weakness. I just have to train around it. The neck doesn’t hurt anymore so no one cares. No MRI. I suggested going to a chiropractor and they freaked out because “we don’t know what’s wrong with your neck” but they won’t find out either.

That's pretty much the reason I've lost faith in the medical profession. I understand to err on the side of caution but only if absolutely necessary not just to cover there ass. Most physicians don't see the need for lifting much less lifting heavy. Sorry to hear about your situation brother.

I appreciate it, but I’m handling it pretty good now. For the record, I did 10lbs short of my best meet bench, hit a pretty good squat PR and had a so-so DL since that lift pulls on my neck. Had my best total.

1. Tore tricep (few months I was fine)
2. Tore my left hamstring in 09. NEVER been right since. I cannot go to failure on ANY leg curl or deadlifts without it feeling like it is going to rip again. Took me 12 months to be able to leg curl ANY type of weight.
3. Tore my left pec. Took me 8 months to be able to press anytype of weight. I still cannot flat bench or use any type of explosiveness in any pressing movement
4. My left knee severe chondromalacia and inoperable meniscal tear. Been 2 years and still dealing with it but able to go up to 405 box squats now with no pain but again cannot go move with explosive force or go close to failure.

That is the worst when they do not have an answer for you or something you can work on to fix it. Clearly it is some type of nerve issue being pinched or something. Remember when Ronnie hurt is neck and his lat and atrophied in a month to nothing?
I’ve mentioned it on here before, but dislocating my kneecap with my leg in full flexion in October 2016. The knee is still jacked, and I probably need surgery on my patellar tendon, but I can’t afford the surgery itself, or the time off of work afterwards. I’ve been training around that and a hernia - at some point both will need repaired. I’m trying to ride it out as long as I can, and when one gets to the point of requiring the knife, I’ll get the other fixed at the same time, so I’m only laid up once.

It's inspiring to hear that you guys all continue to lift in spite of the injuries. Some are worse than others but none the less challenging.
I’m one of those too stubborn for my own good types...fucked that knee up Tuesday, was back to benching feet up on Sunday...back to work Monday on crutches.

Car accident for me thought it was the end and every one told me it was over. I won’t lie I cried a lot. This has been my whole life. I Just found a way no matter why the obstacle Was in my way. Where there’s a will there’s a way
