      How strict are you?

Since I no longer compete I'm not nearly as strict with my diet as I used to be but I do have certain guidelines I've created for myself that I still adhere to. What, if any, do you guys follow?

Offseason ---> 90/10 principle. Eat well 90% of the time and 10% of the time have at it. Were human, we don't get paid to track calories or macro's. A lot of you guys have family and kids, so it would be foolish to neglect family moments and time out with them for meals.

Pre-contest or contest prep = On point... You are paying good money to step on stage, so if you want to cheat on your diet and let your competition get ahead of you. Then have at it, and you are the one to fault when you want to step on stage and compete vs others who were on point 24/7

I once read a Jay Cutler quote in an old issue of FELX magazine. He supposedly said something like: Having six meals a day, every day equals out to 42 meals a week. If one of those is "bad" that´s only 2,4%

If I was strict I wouldn’t be trying to loose weight right now. I am more conscious than ever of what goes in my pie hole now though. Knowing what you’re eating and giving a shit makes a big difference. I say giving a shit because there’s a huge difference between knowing something and actually doing it. Not a bodybuilder and never will be. I’m just a regular guy trying to make myself better. Seeing changes in the mirror just makes me want to keep it up.

True. Seeing little changes on a "wing it" approach slowly but surely turns a lot of people into very regimented individuals.

      I should have been committed

Try training on peanut butter and a loaf of bread! Sleeping on Venice beach was no picnic either. Oh to be young and dumb again! BUT COMMITTED!

I would say I am almost more strict now than ever. Strict in the sense that my diet is perfect but not strict in the sense that I am forcing myself to do it. I love eating balanced and healthy. I spend a great deal of time and money on food. It is truly the center pc of my life. Nothing makes me happier than feeling good and eating high quality food. Very very easy for me not to eat junk or shitty food. I never even think about it.

You've obviously conditioned yourself to eat in a manner conducive not only to accomodate a bodybuilding lifestyle but also to live a healthy and fit life.

Has to be. Nothing makes me more happy that eating clean. I spend most of my money on high end food and produce to make at home. Almost cannot eat out anymore for I am always disappointed. I know I can make it better at home.

Unless you hit up a nice fine dining restaurant.. Especially for Kobe or Wagyu cuts of meat.

Well yes but they are hard to fine. I can list maybe 3 places that I will eat at. After that forget it.

Jay said in one of his videos: I don´t eat out when it´s stuff I can make at home. I´d never go out to eat a chicken breast and rice. Basically the only thing I eat out is Sushi and pizza.
