      New diet question

So I recently purchased a new contest prep book from an author I trust pretty well. Not looking to get into competition shape, just lower some BF to single digits. I generally do better with setting up an actual diet (from the years of bodybuilding I suppose) so that's what I'm planning on doing. I did all the math and calculations in the book and here's what I came up with:

      Calories- 3,591
      Pro- 430g
      Carb- 280g
      Fat- 83g

I'm around 245lb and not 100% sure on my body fat, but definitely not 'lean'. I have some decent separation in my arms/shoulders and quads/hams, but can't see my abs unless flexed. So, probably around 18-20% give or take. It's definitely more protein that I've consumed in the past regardless of post or pre contest. Just honestly looking for people's thoughts on the higher protein and macros in general. If I hold a lean body mass around 190-200lbs, that's over 2g per lb. Again, not knocking the book as I haven't tried it yet, just higher than I've done ever. Thought I'd get the feedback from you in here, especially some of the seasoned and also the pro bodybuilders.

"I think I must be overtraining"... no, you're just a pussy - Machine

Set your numbers based on what your body tells you! Half the fun is figuring it out. Your body is unique, there is no other like it. No book can tell your bodies exacts needs. BULLSHIT! I was a 186 pounds at 9% bodyfat for almost 9 years. I read books upon books about diets low carb, high fat, no carb it wasnt until I decided to figure my macros by myself that I found where my perfect balance was. The weird thing was as long as i was taking in about 200 grams of protein, and anywhere from 150 to 180 grams of carbs and oh yes 130 grams of fat daily i stayed pretty much in contest shape all the fucking time. I competed on average of 2-3 times a month depending on how far I was willing to travel mind you this was back in the 70's before weight and height classes.

For some reason a lot of people seem to have a problem with this man´s opinions. I wouldn´t know why because I don´t follow him at all.
But I agree, why can´t we say his name?

If you ask me, those numbers look like a really good point to start with for you.
Now, at least give this exact scheme a full 3 weeks trial run before you attempt any changes. You can´t tell if something works or doesn´t work after a few day or even a week. Have patience. Stick to the plan and, like I said, after 3-4 weeks you´ll be able to see what this program has produced as far as results. Only then you can make valid evaluations to base possible changes upon.

Oh absolutey. 100% agree. That’s what I was looking at, 3-4 weeks and seeing how I progress and then slowly adjusting over time. Just never have ran a diet with that much protein, so thought this would be the place to ask.

      I know it's a BOZO NO-NO!

If you're "ON" those numbers might work. If not they're skewed for someone that is not chemically enhanced. You need to think long term about the consequences. Mike Mentzer didn't eat more then 200 grams of protein a day and he was "ON"

      You got this, man.
Like I said. Commit to sticking to the program 100% and see what happens.
In my opinion most people don´t get to where they want to go with their progress because they are program hopping every other day.

I had to scroll down and read before answering to see if you commented. For that is pretty much what I was going to say.

1.Decent starting point. Might be too much protein for my liking and not enough carbs.
      2. Need to data to determine if those number are good which will be knowns after 3-7 days.

I knew the two of us would agree or at least be very close together.

It was a pleasure finally seeing you in person at the Olympia!
