So I recently purchased a new contest prep book from an author I trust pretty well. Not looking to get into competition shape, just lower some BF to single digits. I generally do better with setting up an actual diet (from the years of bodybuilding I suppose) so that's what I'm planning on doing. I did all the math and calculations in the book and here's what I came up with:
Calories- 3,591
Pro- 430g
Carb- 280g
Fat- 83g
I'm around 245lb and not 100% sure on my body fat, but definitely not 'lean'. I have some decent separation in my arms/shoulders and quads/hams, but can't see my abs unless flexed. So, probably around 18-20% give or take. It's definitely more protein that I've consumed in the past regardless of post or pre contest. Just honestly looking for people's thoughts on the higher protein and macros in general. If I hold a lean body mass around 190-200lbs, that's over 2g per lb. Again, not knocking the book as I haven't tried it yet, just higher than I've done ever. Thought I'd get the feedback from you in here, especially some of the seasoned and also the pro bodybuilders.
