      End of an era?

Ive been following bodybuilding for maybe 10 years now. It seems like the many guys I have been following are getting older and moving on from bodybuilding. Jay cutler is done. Kai Green hasnt competed in a long time, Branch retired, Flex is leaving the 202s. Im watching a video of Johnnie Jackson with a grey beard now benching. These are the guys that I've followed so closely for years and even met in person and it's just weird to see where they are at now a days. I think we were lucky to see these guys in action over the last few years and I'm interested in seeing what the next era of bodybuilding is going to bring us!

In my era it was Sergio, Arnold and Franco. It's so hard to accept the fact that our time here is so very limited. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT!!

I agree but I still prefer that era. Much more about doing it for the love and not "look at me" IG fame shit. I did enjoy that era a lot and the one before that. Those guys were awesome!

I thought of all of the Mr. Olympia's that Lee Haney had the best physique after Arnold. His muscles were so densely striated it was like looking at a 3D human anatomy chart!

Precisely why I like Ox, Rex, MASS and a lot of the new age guys. They've re-captured that super freaky striated look that actually LOOKS GOOD! That insulin carb up mega bloat that a lot of the upper level guys do the night before I'm happy to say is slowly fading away! Big bloated bellies are for pregnant women in their third trimester, not for a BBing stage. Just my opinion on things....

I'm sure it's not an unpopular opinion, but I've always thought Nasser was probably the best bodybuilder to never win the Mr. O title.

That time must of been amazing. As a kid I would read any and all info about those guys, Old school pics where great. Not to mention the equipment they had to work with.

Chris you no have no idea how limited we were. Equipment wise. supplement wise. We had only the most basic tools to rely on. Rusty olympic plates, rickety benches, broken dumbells, bent bars. At the time I thought this was great because I had left my little basement gym to go to the Y. Not many Y's had a big budget for the weight rooms back then. After a big rain the weight room would flood because it was in the bowels of the building. GOOD TIMES PEOPLE! GOOD TIMES!

Isn’t this why it’s called “working out?” You had to problem solve how to get bigger and stronger with limited implements. No cybex or hammer strength machines. No cardio theaters. Basic stuff and a lot of imagination

Working out isn't the same as training. Training is for a direct purpose like a meet, show, comp, etc. Working out your just trying to get a good pump with no real focus on any goals.

Yep! You can't put that much chemical shit into your body and expect to live a long happy life into your 80's-90's. It simply isn't going to happen!
