How much protein do you really need?

Saw this on tv yesterday and was curious on some inputs on this. This guy recommends 56 grams for male.

      How low can you go!

After it was all said and done I eventually found that my body thrived with only 180 grams a day. I made absolutely no gains at 100. Fortunately that lasted only 8 months. I also discovered (once I got a little more cash) that when I used sources that ranked highest on the P.E.R. list that I really started to GROW. I guess what I'm saying Jay is, it wasn't just the amount but the kind of protein. Hope this helps you get a better understanding.

I didn’t watch the video (at work now) but that sounds like the USDA daily recommendation for a normal, average guy. Not someone in a strength sport.

Yea. It was just a quick clip from the today show from a guy from that 'doctors' show. He didnt specify the difference bettween athletes or the average male, but just interesting- thats like 1-2 meals a day worth of protein.

Yes this is minimum needed provided total calories are sufficient. Meaning the amount of protein you need to prevent muscle wasting and for health. NOT for athletes. Athletes need 1.2-1.8g per kg of body weight. STill WAY UNDER that BB's use today.

BAHAHAHAHAHA! A globalist new world order, corporate CIA narrated news network put's this out and it makes it's way to the FORVM?

That is enough protein to maybe keep the brain functioning at full capacity but if you only ate that amount protein a day you'd be the size of an Ethiopian long distance runner. This stuff is done by design, keep that in mind. The globalists want to kill testosterone in men in anyway they can. If everyone has low T, the population would be docile and would never stand up to government corruption. Protein keeps natural levels of various hormones on the higher end.

Nothing personal or directed towards you Jay! This type of stuff sends me into a fit of rage...

You might have a point there Beast.

I believe that amount might be accurate for a sedentary adult male or perhaps a pre pubescent child, but for an average, healthy, somewhat active individual? I don't buy it. Just looking at the guy gives me cause to question his validity.

I heard an interesting/broscience idea on this.
You eat protein to the point your sweaty shirt smells like urine/ammonia. This would indicate you have maxed out your potential to absorb protein and you are excreting the excess.
Can't speak to validity but i tried it and found it occurred at 300-350g for me.

Precisely! You've got a scrawny stick boy who's arms aren't even as thick as my cock telling us to only eat the littlest amount of protein possible. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Cro-magnon man's brain did not begin developing or did he retain serious natural muscle until he started eating large quantities of animal protein. It's funny how the globalist new world order simply thinks we are all so stupid and can be so easily distracted and lied to. COWARDS!!!!!!!!

      There's truth to that.

I try to eat 1.25-1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight and it does give me that effect when I sweat! That's very interesting.

Well... are you growing better at 350g than at 250?

Which certainly means that the higher protein intake is more beneficial for you.
