“I realized early on that success was tied to not giving up. Most people in this business gave up and went on to other things. If you simply didn’t give up, you would outlast the people who came in on the bus with you.”
"Ask yourself this: if everyone else is training once per week, what are you doing that's so different that you would expect to get better results than anybody else? You might have good genetics, be tough enough and disciplined enough to train hard... but so are a lot of people." - BOSS
"I think I must be overtraining"... no, you're just a pussy - Machine
Sure thing man. Been lifting for 30+ years. Was here when the doors opened in 2007.
Over the decades, techniques and diet ( and I hate that word ) evolved obviously. At one time I reached about 265lb. Big and strong as phuck. Then joints and movement started to rebel. So modified training to suit.
Years pass and I realize my 2 boys were becoming men, so any spare time focused on dad duty. Was a moderator here until they took it from us and a Mod on a couple other forums. So "retired" from all inter-web duties that didn't affect family. Time with family became the priority. Now our oldest son just graduated college, the youngest son is maintainer on $100 million dollar jets in the Air Force.
Fought and beat some colon cancer and have a lingering issue with my left eye from a non related issue. And yes, I actually have a shirt that says... " Welcome to your 50s. If you do not already have a mysterious ailment, one will be assigned to you shortly."
So back in the early days of Fury, there were some promos for free stuff. Got into some PM battles with a rep over a couple things, so I ego'd up, took my lifting belt and straps, and left for a while.
And as we are honest and straight here, I haven't spent a dime on any UN or AP stuff since 2016. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. That I will sort in my own time.
But the life things have settled a bit, sons are off forging their paths, Wife Inc is still the rock she always has been and will be. Some spare minutes are starting to re appear. So as I re-established the simple movements in training and nutrition, I ventured back here, as some have, to see who was still left. Plus there are not many forums left that are still basic, true and no unnecessary BS. And I'm still simple as I don't tweet or 'gram. Beebs are still what I do... well the few that are left.
Carry On !!
To make PROGRESS, you have to learn to be COMFORTABLE with being UNCOMFORTABLE.
Those who worry the most about overtraining are the ones that don't train HARD enough and aren't STRONG enough to need to worry about it.

I don't really do the social media either! Very interesting experiences!
Just renewed my account since 2007.
I have to get into how this all works again. Doctors here in the Netherlands cannot tie their shoelaces with velcro.
People here are for sure better help than they have been. They are just researchers experimenting on people here, without our consent...kinda...not so nice.
