Someone played an entire Def Leppard album today. My gym will let us sync up our phones to the radio. They won’t let it get too crazy since the gym is a Veteran’s Health Club. They champion PTSD and don’t want to trigger someone.

To get accustomed to competing without having any music available, I stopped listening to music when I worked out. If I happen to be in a gym where it is playing, I am most likely just tuning it out.
I hook up with my little Bose speaker system box thing and play Pandora via my phone through it while lifting. Sepultura or Soulfly radio is what is played. No soft shit while lifting!!!!!

That is some straight Viking shit...just the drums at the beginning made me want to go to battle.
Weird, goofy as fuck music! Sounds too techno-ish. The percussion is solid though! I get ya there.
I'm a thrash metal junkie since I was very young. Always have been and always will be! Fast riffs, intense & loud lyrics, heavy bass and percussion heavy metal C A N N O T be beat!

Intense and loud indeed!! I hate to see once you get your shit goin' Beast!!
Notice I did not mention anything once the vocals started... I only speak of the drum beat at the beginning my good friend. I couldn't even listen to the whole track due to the vocals. But the drums at the beginning had me thinking about a rhythm of rowing to shore before a battle. The blood pumping in anticipation... ha ha, I just want to let out a primal yell in my office right now but I might scare my workers. Anyways Sparty baby...you should have a good understanding of me by now. :)

Eh, I can be extremely intimidating. I've learned to both control and weaponize that particular personality and unleash it when needed! Been in one too many fist fights in my youth.

I did like the percussion, good rhythm too the vocals and that humming instrument sound AWFUL! I'm sure it's related to ancient Viking instruments but who the hell knows! Sounds like to enjoy that music you'd have to be on mushrooms while sitting inside of a pentagram. L O L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the Abbott brothers (Vinnie Paul & Dimebag Darrell) were from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Pantera was HUGE in Texas for a very long time! Never got into Slipknot, they quickly adopted a nu-metal mainstream sound which I N E V E R liked nor respected. Think along the lines of Metallica's Kill them All album or Garage, Inc album, that's TRUE thrash metal my friend!
Being at that concert on shrooms with those outfits and music would be a trip. I hear you with the music. I can appreciate all music and looking back I realize that some of the music I liked was actually dog shit but in the moment it was what I liked.
When performing cardio I've been listening to EliteFTS podcasts and several with John Meadows. The man is super knowledgeable! Hard thrash metal while training, of course =)
Cardio is a different story.. I have been using Audible during cardio. David Goggins book was good and got through some mile. Currently listening to The Five Families
