Pre workout drinks or supps that you actually use to get you through the tough ones.
Love your question. I only take a pre for the tough ones, not daily. If you need a pre workout just to train then maybe you need to re evaluate things. If I know I’m going to be hitting a heavy weight, or know the day will be very taxing then I hit a pre workout. A pre workout is another tool in your toolbox. You don’t need a hammer for every project either.
Having said that, Green Apple Fury has been my go to. I have also been playing with one from another company that isn’t so heavy on the stims. I’m a coffee drinker and i need 2 scoops of Fury which is 700 mg of caffeine. A little too much.

I'm with you on that CD. I reserve the use of the high voltage shit for the days I truly need it.
I always tried to stay away from heavy stimulant use for two reasons. One was adrenal fatigue. The second was that I wanted to maximize the effect they had come competition day without having to rely on some outlandish doseage...like 700mg of caffeine...

Exactly why I’m doing some homework. Read the labels. One scoop of Fury is 16.5 grams. 5 grams of that is BCAAs. That’s about one third scoop. Why? BCAAs are pretty much a waste. EAAs are better. That’s 1/3 of your money wasted.
Same with whey. Ultra Whey Pro is 34 gm per scoop and 24 gm of protein. This one isn’t bad. That’s 10 gm of filler, sugar and stuff to prevent clumping. Some other brands are over 40 gm per set and 24 gm of protein. And what’s in their proprietary blend?
Back to pre workouts. Some pre’s are for pumps and not for energy and focus. Some have ingredients for both. So there’s another tool for the toolbox. Some have both. PUMP pills have a stim pill so it can be both. PUMP powder is for pumps only and has no stims. Shock Therapy is both. Depends on what you’re looking for I guess, but not all products do the same thing. So know what you want when you purchase one

Depends on the day! Due to the heat and the bizarre sleep during this divorce process, I've had no choice but to consume larger amounts of caffeine.
Pre-workout you must be careful. Too large of a dose can keep you up at night even if it's 6-8 hours later. It can also reduce the amount of REM sleep you get because your body takes longer to fall fully asleep. You can look up effects of caffeine on sleep via duckduckgo.com (NEVER use google).

I’m a fairly unabashed caffeine kinky, so use a PWO of some sort for pretty much every workout. My go-to lately has been GAT psychon - because I’m cheap, and found a site that was selling an expired flavor for $15/bottle, rather than the usual $45. Got myself loaded up for about half a year...otherwise, I do like fury the most out of the animal offerings - pretty similar to the GAT stuff - just never available super cheap!

I’m using Hosstility. It isn’t cheap, but I’m getting the training effect I want with 200 mg of caffeine vs 700 mg of caffeine. I might just live a couple days longer too. :)
