No excuses here! Bitter divorce, injuries, nagging bodily pains, hormonal fluctuation due to extreme stress and lack of sleep, missing my kids, slow as fuck at work yet I STILL go rip shit fuckin riot when I train!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree! Big difference between motivation and being driven.
I always saw motivation as temporary, like a spark that can either start a fire within you or fizzle out. I've always seen being driven as a mindset that has become part of your personality, something you cannot stop thinking about and nothing will stop you from accomplishing.
You have to fall back onto discipline when motivation fails. Make yourself show up. Will yourself to keep going. I’ve always been one to burn negative energy in the gym or whatever kind of training I was doing. Turn the negative shit into aggression. Lift heavy or rep it out. Use it to keep running when your body wants to stop. Life sucks, especially this year. My personal life is crap. I’m not sure if I’ll be married myself next year. But I don’t let it stop me, I let it fuel me.

I enjoy listening to people who love doing this shit for no other reason than to just train. Thanks guys!!
Well I wouldn’t label myself as a well adjusted person. Some people smoke, some drink, some emotionally eat, some people turn to drugs and some people train. Everyone has their thing.

I'm excited to see what it's like being old. Everything already aches as it is.
Thank God we've got HRT and Cialis =) We won't have much to complain about IMO. We will just take more prescription drugs instead of supps, so I guess there's that?
This is the secret. Keep going. When you get older and take time off, restarting is a bitch and you will throw in the towel easier. Taking a year off when you’re 25 isn’t the same as taking a year off when you’re 45-50.

I tweaked my upper back getting out of bed. This is what getting old is like.
This morning after a long weekend of hunting, I put on my cowboy boots for work and my left ankle/heel was swollen for no damn reason at all. That is what getting old is like I guess? Must have tweaked it doing something?
My back and leg muscles are a bit sore. Had to drag some deer out of the brush for some of the old guys, LOL! Plus, I always load and unload the deer off of the truck and drag em into the cooler once they're cleaned. Good cardio =)

I, too, have had the unfortunate pleasure of having to duck walk a hundred feet or so through brambles and thorns to retrieve a pig I had shot.

So you understand =) but it wasn't for any of my animals, they drop just about every time. Had to drag several other's animal out of the brush. One hunt, one of the hunters shot all 4 of his animals and they all went into the brush, LOL!!!!! That's just one example. Had to tell him to not shoot low on the shoulder but where the upper shoulder connects to the neck. After that, his animals dropped every time.

The particular story I'm referring too involved me working my way into heavy brush to check out a trail and managed to jump a sleeping boar. He turned on me and charged from about 25 feet and closing awfully fast and I pulled up my rifle and fired 3 rounds and hit him twice. Sadly I missed his head, but one shot his tusk off, went into his shoulder and down the length of his body and out his ass. Still had enough in him to turn and run and make me look for him.
I was packing shit up yesterday and moving stuff (in the middle of a divorce) and tweaked my back. getting old sucks.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Animals are tough. Precisely why one must be very careful at all times out in nature. Once those animals' adrenaline gets flowing, they become next level tough!

Going through a bitter divorce myself! Things have finally turned very positive and my ex is going to be pissed at the end =) I hope yours goes well, never thought something could be this overwhelming. Thankfully, I see my kids more than enough so I don't completely lose it.
Good to see you're still around and can't believe you're 40!
