      Gym Rituals or Superstitions

      So do you have any kind of gym ritual you just have to do before training or during training? Like do you need to have Whitney Houston on your earbuds to max squat? Do you have a certain playlist? Is there something you always do before leaving the house to train?

      Today I wore my old Animal Blood Red shirt. Black with red letters. It’s beat up, the lettering is cracked, but I’ve logged lots of hours in it. I like old t-shirts to train in. In my head there’s shit loads of stored energy in them.

      I don't think I really do. Maybe I'm just not self aware enough. I had a lifting partner that would always listen to a particular kid rock song before a max deadlift.

      I get my basic white-girl on and tan prior to working out. During the winter and living in the mid-west the whole Vitamin D deficiency thing is too true. Other than that....if I don't have my headphones I'm not working out. If I have to listen to house music one more fucking time, there will be blood.

      For me, it comes down to warm ups prior to lifting. On specific training days I do specific things to get loose.

      As far as music goes, on Back/Leg day, I listen to Sepultura Radio on Pandora and crank it on my bose speaker I plug into the wall! Same thing for Chest, Shoulders & Arms but it's Soulfly radio instead. Regarding specific lifts, it tends to be Slayer while Squatting and Deftones while hitting Deads. I always like Rage Against the Machine when Benching, but I don't always play it I'll just let Pandora roll.

      I do have specific tanks I wear on specific training days and have been wearing the same ones for years! When I was training at Metroflex before it went south, a few guys caught on and figured out what I was training on each day per the specific tank I was wearing =)

      That's all I can think of for now.
