Big day. Muscular endurance kinds sucks, but I’m in a calorie deficit so I guess it’s OK ... for now. Making the Man Maker Pie tonight. Gotta feed the beast, plus it will provided lunches for work this weekend. Ordering out with the crew is a no-no. Sticking to my guns.

So, training smart today and not letting my ego destroy me LOL.

Seated leg press

145x10
160x10
Leg ext
100 x3 sets of 10
Laying leg curls
100 x3 sets of 10
Abs.
Done.
I could have gone to 315 today. 5 reps would have been a grinder, but I figured holding at 295 and fortifying my position there would be better. So last time I did 2 sets of 295 and it was tough. Today I did 3 and it wasn’t that bad. You have to embrace the process right? I’m building strength not testing it.
I figured out the seat on seated leg press. I got good depth and was feeling it in my hams and glutes. This machine has the seat move and not the foot thing. This is more like an isolated squat than other leg press machines I’ve used.

That is one of the hardest parts. I meal prep and whatever I made isn't the best and my co-workers come by the office and ask if I want something from wherever they are ordering from. I say no quickly but they wont walk away. they sit and stare and then I say maybe. Then I say no again and then they pretend to walk away and say "last chance". I give in about 25% of the time. If they would just accept my first answer and walk away...id be fine.

I’ve been feeling kinda beat up lately. Went in planning on a short shoulder day an failed horribly on military press at an easy weight for me. Then I tried to do some laterals an my shoulder popped. So I called it before I hurt myself or something. I’m gonna take tomorrow off. I have a couple 12 hour shifts, then I’ll hit the gym again Saturday. Hopefully feeling rested.

Just want to add that one of the things I learned after joining the FORVM was that no one cares about your goals but you. No one. No one gives a shit how much you can lift and no one cares if you hit your weight loss target. They may say they do, but friends, co workers and even family will subtly sabotage your efforts. Again it comes down to your will. Every time you can say “no” you passed the test of your will. Don’t let others soften your resolve. Don’t let someone talk you into dessert or to skip a day in the gym. Don’t let them talk you out of leg day.
Now having said all that my weekly weigh in was 264.4 today. Gained 3 lbs. I did have pizza one night for dinner, but pretty much stuck to the Paleo. Feeling like shit right now too. Pizza one night won’t make you gain 3lbs. Not sure what went wrong but I’m sticking to it and not bailing out. Besides the scale, the mirror is telling me things as well as my clothes. I’m still on the right track.

Giant set of hammer curls, back extensions w/ a 25lb plate and crunches x3 rounds backe to back
Done.
Still feel a little cooked, but I hit some rep goals today and will move up weight on lat pull down and cable rows. Curls also were on today. Ironically I had a great day but felt like shit doing it. Bench tomorrow.

My whole game was off today. I had a shake pre and didn't eat any fruit like I usually do. Then I open my gym bag and find out I forgot my knee sleeves, which would have been great today. My pregame warm up plan didn't work for my knee and walking out the bar was painful. Actually squatting wasn't though. At least I got something in and didn't skip leg day. It's a small brick, but it still adds to the wall.

Congrats man! 23 pounds is an achievement for sure. You should be feeling pretty good about this.
My body isn't used to it yet. My strength is way down, but I'm looking good. Shorts I wore last year fall right off me now. I'm noticing new veins in my forearms. Not making Wrath sweat any time soon though LOL. The really interesting part is seeing me and what I've built. I think it was Machine who said once that everyone should diet down and get cut at least once to see what you've really got. I'm seeing more musculature now and having been following a powerlifting routine of some kind for the past several years, I'm seeing where I need work in the mirror. I'm sure you've noticed some minor changes to my exercise selections lately. I feel like I need to bodybuild more now

23 lbs is substantial, congratulations. It seems like the "powerbuilding" idea has faded some these past few years, but I like the idea, get strong lean up and then see where to add for the esthetic. Also don't worry about the strength loss, a lot of that is just depletion.

Good day.
Had to drop weight for all the laterals but I got a lot out of those sets. I did feel myself cheating with my traps on the chicken wing machine though. Maybe that was too heavy?

Neck injury haunting me today. Maybe it was the over hand rows? Left lat had this weird burning sensation during DB rows and I tried to do alt curls but my left biceps was very weak. BB curls were better since both arms were working together. But on machine curls I had to rest pause the last couple reps and that caused neck pain. Now I’m on yellow alert and will be watching this. I don’t want another set back.

Went well today. Squat strength is just going to be a slow return. It is what it is. Weigh in tomorrow but I’m not expecting a big loss. I’ve been upping my carb intake some trying to feel a little more energetic. Also feeling a little bored wimpy current training. I was thinking about trying to do the wave training even though I’m not feeling beastly right now. We’ll see
