Talked to the gym owner who’s the strong man coach for the gym. He suggested the Swiss bar bench today after I told him I can’t bring th O-bar to my chest. Damn, I could do it! And I can add weight. I felt a little pressure in my shoulder, but nothing I would call pain. 50 lb DBs are painful. So now I have a new toy.

My shoulder was worse and was bad today too. No gym today. My knees are flaring up again from cutting grass 2x a week. Left knee is sucking walking up stairs. I cleaned my smoker today and plan to drown my sorrows in a couple racks of ribs tomorrow. This is the way.

It’s been a minute. I’ve been training. Nothing exciting to report. Just doing something. Mentally I did a backslide a bit. Frustrated with my shoulder. Angry at doctors. Seeing yet another doctor. I got billed 4x for “ambulatory surgery” by my wound care doctor. That’s under investigation now. I think that’s funny because they use a stupid little wrist blood pressure cuff on me like you can get at Walmart. If they’re going to charge me that much at least have some legit medical equipment. I’m going to get an ultrasound of my shoulder since that’s not getting better. Doc still says I can’t have surgery yet because my body is too much out of wack. If they find a tear I’m sure it would escalate to a MRI, but I kinda feel like what’s the point since nothing can be done yet. There’s a big difference between being stuck using 40lb dumbbells for benching and starting over with the 40’s. I wouldn’t mind starting over with the 40’s because I can attack them and get stronger. But my shoulder is limiting everything. This is temporary.

I’m still here. I stopped training to give my body a break. Probably more importantly my head. Training was frustrating. Watching other guys do stuff I couldn’t do was frustrating. Instead of being a sanctuary, the gym was starting to be a big source of stress. I’ve been feeling better. I’m getting my health back under control. I still haven’t had my shoulder ultrasound done because I have to go to a specific place for it and scheduling it has been a pain. I had a day scheduled but it was set 4 days after the prescription expired. So I had to go through the whole pain of getting a new script.
I’ve been around, lurking and watching all you turds. No slipping up, I’ll know! I’m probably going to start going back in the gym next week and doing whatever I can. If I can get my shoulder fixed I should be able to rebuild some kind of bench and overhead work.

I can’t even bench a naked bar right now. My left rotator cuff is most likely torn. Both knees are eff’ed. I just get pissed watching people warm up. It’s not the weight being used, it’s just that I can’t physically do much.

I’m slogging along. Doing light stuff for now. I probably have a rotator cuff tear. I’m supposed to have an ultrasound of my shoulder but summer is getting in the way. I’ve been using up my time off so even if I get the test I can’t take off to get it fixed. I’m functioning in normal life but can’t press a naked bar off my chest.

I feel ya on this one! Even though I'm spending lots of time with my kiddos, not training is making me lose my mind, LOL! Definitely worth it, but I never knew how much training did not only for my physique, but for my mind as well.
