I guzzle beer too but its not the beer that packs on the pounds =) we've even changed up foods we eat on weekends to be more chicken or fish. I don't eat much red meat anymore but maybe once a week? We made Fish Tacos last weekend and they were PHENOMENAL! Grilling at home is far more fun and healthy too.
So have you seen a big difference from getting away from red meat? I love a good steak but I could easily eat something else if it would help drop a few pounds. Just curious about your thoughts
Ostrich and Bison are some other considerations...

Of course flank and eye of round are good choices for leaner cuts. Currently I'm doing a lot of chicken and turkey tenderloins.

H U G E difference! Red meat takes significantly longer to digest; even more so for us big men! I'd limit it to once a week and make it a cheat type of thing like going out to eat, etc. Plus when I saw some former top level NFL athletes turned chefs on Food Network, they were saying all they ate was chicken, turkey and fish. Red meat was more of a cheat meal! If those are NFL athletes.....I imagine they know some things we don't.
I'm also on support but have a FAR more natural level of hormones which also makes digesting red meat (I used to eat 1-1.5 pounds a day of it) not as easy.

I've got to also eat things my wife will like as well =) dinner is where I've gotten into trouble calorie wise, LOL! I justified it by "Oh yeah I trained hard today!" The scale doesn't lie.
I am going to give this idea a go and see how I feel. I don't eat a ton of red meat but I will definitely substitute it now with chicken or fish to see what happens

What do you think about the "Monster Mash" most of the popular strong men are doing where they eat huuuuuge amounts of red meat with rice?

LOL! Stan Efferding is full of shit. I tried his approach to things and it left me hugely bloated, unhealthy, feeling like shit and having high blood pressure due to all of the extra water I was holding.
You've also got to remember, all of those strongmen are taking 5-7 different steroids (mostly injectables and a few orals) and growth hormone, insulin, etc (I know this from both using certain compounds myself and training with and at the same gyms as top Strongmen). Their metabolisms are running at such a high rate they HAVE to eat a shitload of food Stan Efferding style or they lose strength.
Just my opinion injected (pun intended) with a lot of truth, but hands on experience doesn't lie =)

Haha! Guess I won't try this kind of diet then - thanks for the information! I just got curious because I saw it in some Brian Shaw videos.
Decided to hit chest/tri's yesterday because of a fun and long weekend! Was supposed to hit Legs. We potty trained my baby boy, my baby girl was up all night Saturday and my baby boy learned how to ride his bicycle with training wheels. Not to mention the heat index was damn near 110 all weekend!
ANYWAYS! Had a sweet pump! Didn't feel anything in my previously injured pec but will still move slowly. Baby steps I'm told is key! Since I'm feeling a bit better Legs will be hit today =)
Pre-Workout:
Upper Band Stretching & Lower Static Stretching

Looking like it's getting hot AF down there in that free state of Texas. Awesome workout here AB, really putting in the work brother. Stay hydrated.
Thanks!
Oh yes!!!! Been stupid hot! To Houstonian's delight, it's been raining every day thus far this week! Temps have been 85-87 as the high =) Cools things off, but when the sun tries to come out it becomes a steam bath once again, LOL!
Definitely guzzling more water than usual. Part of the summertime heat!
Hammered the ole wheels! Felt good. Even did some SKWAATZ and got some cardio in! Also added CUTS back into the mix to help get me down further to 260.
Feels good to have full body soreness from Squatting! Haven't Squatted in quite a while due to my previous pec discrepancies.
*No cardio today! My baby girl is going through a sleep regression phase (happens around age 2). I'm exhausted so it'd be best that I rest up.

GET SOME,
ALTERED BEAST
P.S: Resting up today!
I see we both did legs today and we both decided to torture ourselves with post cardio. I can't tell if this is some sort of self-loathing, or what? lol Touche AB, touche.

We are finally seeing top end 80's for temperatures. This rain though, it can go away and die for a while. The humidity here has been damn near constant 85%. Nothing like taking a shower, walking outside - and getting another shower. SMFH.
