Good luck man. Let us know how it goes. You changing anything up, diet wise, for today/tomorrow?
I used to carb up a few days prior to a race, but I'm going full Keto into this one. This will be a first for me. I'll let you know how it goes. Going to make sure I eat a shit ton of fat for breakfast.

25 gallons of frying oil should do the trick
"Ask yourself this: if everyone else is training once per week, what are you doing that's so different that you would expect to get better results than anybody else? You might have good genetics, be tough enough and disciplined enough to train hard... but so are a lot of people." - BOSS
"I think I must be overtraining"... no, you're just a pussy - Machine
I'll give that a shot.. They won't catch me tho.. lol
Lol. His neck probably got stuck in the doorway

Tough Mudder Half was way too easy, but it was a lot of fun. I don't think I'll do another Half, but I definitely want to run a Full now.
How'd the Mrs. do? This was her first right?
Also, how'd you feel doing it on Keto this time?

This was both of our first on a Tough Mudder. She has run 2 spartans before. She thought it was too easy too, but she had fun. The Half just didn't challenge either of us.
Running it in Keto I felt great! Never once felt a lack of energy. On the 20th we have a Spartan Super (10+ miles), so that will be a better judge of things. Plan on going full keto into that one too.
What's the main difference between the two (other than the mud haha)

Obstacles are more team based and just all around easier. The obstacles at Spartan are all about you and your abilities. More lifting (i.e. bucket carry, sandbag carry, atlas stone), more technique oriented (i.e. rope climb, spear throw, multi-rig).
Also.. if you fail an obstacle at Spartan you have to do 30 burpees. At Tough Mudder, you could walk around an obstacle if you didn't want to do it, but most of them, you're not going to fail because you've got other people helping you through them.
The Half Mudders typically are supposed to be super easy. I don't believe you have to do any of the overly challenging ones (Funky Monkey, Swingers, Electroshock Therapy, Arctic Enema); it's mostly geared for those who are on the fence about the whole experience / probably haven't done OCR before.
Super curious to see how you'd feel about the full.

That's what I told my wife.. that all the "fun" obstacles were on the full. She's only done 2 Spartan Sprints, so she didn't want to do a Full to start the TM. More than likely going to sign up for the TM Full in Dallas in September.
Nothing crazy, easy all around. Low and slow. Keeping the blood flowing.

Around set 5 the "sprints" became more of a jog.. sore from this one today.
That's because your sprints are insane

Haha.. these sprints are what give me the ability to run 13+ miles.
Back when running was a BIG part of my life, I used to do sprints 3-4x a week to improve my distance running. People think running distances are the way to increase endurance/time. No, sprints all the way. Even up to doing 1/2mile 'sprints'. Run full force for 1/2mile, walk 1/2 mile back to the starting point. Repeat over and over. Always shaved minutes off my 2mile time for the Army

Yup.. the first race I trained for I ran distance to prep. But running for 12 or 13 miles on a Monday would put me in recovery for the rest of the week.
After that first race I read quite a few articles on sprinting and how it is better for your overall endurance. Switched things up and haven't ever looked back.
