I was doing backloading for about 7-8 weeks. Then I stopped and went traditional. There's a small chance that I may be doing BL'ing again ... wait, wut?

No carbs all day until PWO? That seems like a smarter plan for someone like me who's busy as hell 70% of the day...plus I've been training in the evenings. May have to give this diet plan a shot soon.

I wasn't going to reply to you, being that you're a Dallas fan and all ... but ..
Yup. Protein/Fats all day until postWO, when you flood your body with simple carbs. For me, its much simpler. For years, I was eating 4-6 whole food meals daily and all the prep work that goes into it. With BL'ing, you don't have to worry as much; skip breakfast, eat 2 whole food meals during the day (maybe a shake in there too), and then hit the gym. PostWO, free for all (basically). Go to bed full, happy, satsified. Wake up lean.

Wait, wut? Remember those candid words that you told me before the January powerlifting meet and which I didn't listen to at the time; "stop it and just eat". Took those words to heart a short time later (with the context of good food choices overall, which is of great importance) and progress is through the roof... Think wisely before going "back", haha.
Just my opinion Ag, but I think you have to structure your diet around your program... For example, 5/3/1, moderate volume and intensity, PERFECT for BLing, especially how you are doing it, with an emphasis on Cardio and such... WestSide, where you are moving High Percentage weights, you need a little different kind of energy, that IMO you don't get from BLing... I ran it for 6 months with 5/3/1 and it worked great... Then when I started working with Josh Bryant (High Intensity w/ Heavy Weights, and High Volume), I did his diet for the 1st 4 weeks, smashed PRs and was going good, then I tried to switch back to BLing, I missed a weight, had weights move slower, and overall wasn't doing as well... Stopped and went back to his diet, and started killing it again...
Once he changes my plan to something different, I will go back to BLing, 1. because it's fucking great to eat like that & 2. like you said, it's really easy eat a few meals, train, then crush food...
That's kind of how I feel. Right now, I feel really good doing the bling, and I get the keto headaches if I take a day off (Which I have been), but it's worth it to wake up a little leaner every day. Are you jumping back on it, Agg?

I agree, 100%. The diet has to be geared towards the particular training routine you're following. WestSide and Josh Bryant's workouts? You simply need more food. 5/3/1? BLing is possible. I had zero carbs yesterday. Today is BigBenchFriday. And carbs will be feasted upon postWO.

I never got the keto headaches once I finished the 'prep phase'. But everyone is different. Am I jumping back on? Not 100%. If I were to jump back on it, I'd want to do the 7-10 day prep phase, but I didn't/won't do that right now. I have obligations and such through the next few weekends and the stars just aren't aligned yet. So right now .. I'm BLing during the week. And I'm BLing on weekends, where appropriate. That said, if I have a family picnic or my father's company's golf outing, I'm not going to worry too much and I'm going to enjoy.

Been doing this seriously for about a month or so now and holding nicely at 260. I can actually see my Ab and some vasularity (yes I said it) in my arms and legs.

I need to think of something fun to change my title to...I am getting bored w/ my current Journey title. Those meals sound delicious, cant view pics at work but I can see it in my head.

Pictures are amazing. See 'em later.

What's up fellas? I have a couple of ?'s for A or anyone else who can help. I am deploying here in a few days, so i should have about 9 months to get fit, im about 195lbs with 15-18% bf at 5'10" tall...my plan is to work out 5 days a week (mon, wed, fri) all strength training w/ basic compound movements and (tues, thurs) some circuit type shit w/ some bodyweight/medicine ball work...if i train mon-fri which days would be best to go no carb and which days best to backload? Also do you think that is too much work for my body in 5 days?

you do backloading on the days you actually do strength training. If you start to feel bad on tues/thurs although you shouldnt, you can take in a few carbs, but it all works off the idea that you're depleting yourself through the compounds and then refueling enough to get through the next workout. So off days for sure would be sat/sun, and then maybe tues thurs.
