We all start out as paper dolls. I’m not normally one to judge people, but when you feel the need to rip your shirt off in December when it’s 60 degrees in the gym, well, you’re looking for attention.
Or a boyfriend, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must be a millenial thing. LOL!! I managed a couple of gyms and both had a policy about training without shirts that was strictly enforced.
My gym is ran by donations mostly. That’s why it’s 60 degrees in there. They don’t like to turn on the heat or AC. It is ran by volunteers, some of them are the same shirtless guys. It’s pretty much anything goes. The only rules I know of are no spitting and no vaping. You can go shirtless, barefoot and cover yourself in chalk. I have noticed they have toned down the music and recently learned it’s because it triggers some of the vets PTSD.

I don't see any shirtless lifting in my gym. People usually stay to themselves and follow the rules in place ( standard gym rules). I have recently had a couple people want to hop in on my arm night. It was pretty cool to have a dad and his teenage son hop in for the whole workout. I am sure they are feeling it today.

I'm glad to see they at least drew the line at vaping!
It is easier to sleep at night knowing you have done good things for others or just been a good human
You got that right! It does boggle my mind how shit bags I know in this industry who do terrible things can be ok with it in their mind on a day to day basis.
What kind of hand placement do you guys like for close grips bench press?
I am a wide body so I use pointer fingers on the bar middle bar lines and press right below the nipples. Any closer it fucks with my wrists and I cant get a good range of motion.

Closer 6-8" hand spacing blew my triceps up for years once I started using more than 225 it started fucking with my wrists so I opened it up, to be honest I felt the resistance was more evenly dispersed taking much of the emphasis off the tricep and putting more on the central region of the pecs. Go Lighter and do them on the smith set the stops just shy of touching your pecs and pause between reps.I think you'll see what I mean then you can decide.
I usually bring my hands in 2 fingers from my normal bench grip. I’ve been getting a nice chest pump doing them lately and I’m thinking something is off

I usually get quite a bit of chest activation with close grip, too

JM presses will take care of all that, though...
I am ok with chest activation on close grip. I do it on chest day and then really hit tri's the following day. It is a nice precursor of whats to come.

Thumb and index on the smooth. I bring it down and stop an inch or two off of my chest than only go up to where I feel the triceps contract. No need to lockout every rep anymore as I'm not building strength, trying to keep constant tension on the muscle. I have noticed my joints feel much better! I missed BBer training.

That is the point of this place. To learn and ask questions while helping others.
