I train at Victory Gym VHC (veteran's health club). It is at the back of an old hall that they now call Hero's Hall. The gym is free to vets and first responders. They have weekly PTSD meetings and have events in Hero's Hall every weekend. I want to say last weekend was a motorcycle ride though. A couple months ago they had a fitness expo with Brandon Lily. Mark Wahlberg has been opening restaurants in the area and has even stopped in. The gym is totally ran by volunteers. Every piece of equipment is donated. This winter a local HVAC company donated a furnace, installed it and all the duct work for the gym since it is added onto the hall.

I train at Timber Gym in Aberdeen Washington most of the time, I also train out of my garage and a friend of mine's garage. For the most part I train strongman out of the garages and the power lifts at Timber Gym.

Must be nice to have 2 gyms that offer all the amenities. Sweet!
Yes am spoiled. I just moved and now live smack in the middle of CT which is 25 mins from all the good gyms. 4 of them. I only use two of them though. The others get too busy.
Yes. Timber Gym has been independently owned for 29 years. Great equipment and atmosphere. It’s kind of like a family there. Anyone coming through this area should definitely check it out.
It's wild isn't it? To be honest I've trained there myself many times. Lol!
Never set off the alarm. I have built a good relationship with all the workers there and they know I am in there to work but I am also willing to help kids to the elderly if I see them confused or doing something that could harm them. I guess I get a pass on the lunk alarm even though I do look like a lunk at times.

I workout at the high school I teach at. Some time ago they converted two auto shops into the weight room. Tons of space and they have room to fill it up more. They let me keep all my strongman and other equipment there and I can train on the weekends, the alarms are never turned on instead of actually fixing them. Its a strange mix of typical high school, busted up, equipment and then some really nice stuff that was bought or donated years ago. There are three texas power bars and calibrated ivanko bumper plates (though they are really tore up) and even some old school iron 100lb plates from UNC (with custom logos cast in and paint still there). I am thankful I can train there since I can do about 30-40 foot runs for strongman training inside if needed. Plus I have plenty of room for my stuff. My idea is to buy equipment then eventually open my own small facility where I live in a year or two.
Then I do some accessory workouts at a local commercial gym to save gas, and they pay my competition entry fees so I need to make appearances.

This is pretty sweet.
