The Giant Killer's Path Toward WORLD DOMINATION

Whats up all,

My name is Shaun "The Giant Killer" Clarida. As you all may or may not know, I am the newest athlete under the Universal Nutrition team. I am also a WNBF Natural Pro Lightweight competitor. Currently, I am getting ready for the biggest show of the year, which is the WNBF Pro World Championships, held in New York.

I have done a total of 10 amateur shows and 4 pro show, since becoming a pro:

2007 Pro Mr. Universe- 2nd
2007 Pro Worlds-2nd
2008 Pro Worlds-3rd
2009 Pro American-2nd

As you can see, very high placings, but have yet to taste a victory and I plan on tasting that as I go for the World Title again in November. Worlds is the Superbowl of the WNBF and I plan on walking away with the Superbowl ring come Nov. 14!

Follow me in my journey, as I go through my prep, my training, my focus and my everything...as I prepare myself for battle. I plan to go to WAR!

Pics below are from the 2009 Pro American where I placed 2nd out of 8, losing a very close decision to a top competitor. I weighed 134lbs that day. I plan to bring a BIGGER AND BETTER physique, come Worlds!

Thanks...

Diet is pretty much the same each day: High Protein/moderate carbs/veges. I dont count calories or measure anything, I just go by how I am feeling that day. If I'm feeling pretty down, I up my carbs and always keep the protein (fish/chicken) high. If I'm feeling pretty good, I tend to not go with much carbs. I try to play with the depletions/loading days throughout my prep to keep my body guessing.

Cardio-3-4x a week for 20-30 min.

Yea...No need to worry about weight and getting too "big" and play the size game. As long as you have good muscularity, good proportions and good conditioning, it should go in your favor.

Weight means NOTHING in this sport....

That may be the best comment I have seen in a long, long time.

Thanks everyone...

I hope you all enjoy my prep journey and my path toward World Domination.

Today I will be blasting away my chest followed up with some cardio and ab work. Will let you know later how it comes out. I never write down or have a plan of action prior to going to the gym. My workouts just come from the top of my head. As long as I get in at least 20-25 sets in, IM GOOD!

Chest Day

Back from an INTENSE chest workout! Like I said, NEVER do I plan a workout or write anything down. I let my mind and body guide me. So here we go:

First # is weight
Second # is reps
Total # sets at the end

Incline Dumbbell-2 warm up, 85 x12, 100 x 8, 110 x 6, 100 x 6, 80 x 8 = 5 sets
Smith Flat Bench-1 warmup, 140 x 10, 180 x 8, 200 x 8, 140 x 10= 4 sets
Hammer Incline (plate loaded) (1 hand at a time) 80 x 12, 90 x 10, 115 x 8= 3 sets
Hammer Incline drop set (both hands now) 230 x 8, 180 x 6, 90 x 6 = 3 sets
Pec Deck Flys- 140 x 12, 200 x 10, 220 x 8, 240 x 6 = 4 sets
Peck Deck Fly drop set (pause at top) 220 x 6, 180 x 6, 140 x 5, 110 x 3 = 4 sets
Hammer Decline (plate loaded)- 270 x 10, 230 x 12, 180 x 12 = 3 sets
Cable Crossovers (90 degree angle)- 60 x 15, 70 x 12, 80 x 12, 85 x 10 = 4 sets
Dips ( weighted) - 90 x 15, 90 x 12, 90 x 12, BW x 15 = 4 sets

Set total=34

Forearms:
Single Dumbbell wrist curls-4 sets each arm
Behind the back wrist curls- 6 sets

Cardio:
20 min

Abs:
4 exercises

This was my workout for 2nite. I spent about 3 hours in the gym. As you can see, I mix it up between freeweights and machines. I incorporate drop sets a lot, just to pump as much blood into the bodypart and go all the way to failure!

If you add everything together, including all the drop sets, I did about 34 sets. If anyone knows me, I dont believe in 4-5 exercises with 15-20 reps. I need to feel like I did something, so I make sure to kill my body each day until I feel satisfied. Lots of people may say "overtraining" but in my opinion, there is NO such thing as "overtraining" I know my body and know what it needs.

Time to kick back, eat a meal and start the recovery process. LEG DAY 2MORROW!!!
