Shout out to all ABC constituents, FORVM members and Animal brethren the world over,
June In Review
June was a badass month for the movement that is the Animal Barbell Club. Domestically we had events in Seattle, South Carolina and a warrior ABC in Kuwait held by our soldiers abroad.
In my neck of the woods, we held gatherings at two iconic gyms: the East Coast Mecca, Bev Francis’ Powerhouse Gym in Syosset, Long Island, NY http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=26066 and my new home gym, a jewel of an old school gym in the Philly outskirts run by a former Mr. Universe, Greg Long’s Gym in Feasterville-Trevose, PA

As you can imagine, the training intensity was at a fever pitch, with apprearances by such FORVM standouts as Big Al, Big Ant, McFly, Vinny, The Giant Killer, treetrunklegs, Aggression, naturalguy, J-Dawg, Juggernaut, JoeyD, NPC national-level competitor Travis Rogers and more. I get so pumped training around brothers of this caliber it is unreal. In such an environment, there is no choice but to grow and improve. That is what the ABCs are all about.
Future ABC Events
Europa Regional ABC
The Lone Star state will soon feel the impact of the ABCs with a huge Regional ABC gathering running in conjunction with August’s Europa Super Show where both Wrath and The Freak are slated to compete. For the second year running, our ABC will be held at the gym that crafted an 8x Mr. O, Metroflex in Arlington, TX. The U Corporate will be there officially--I’ll be there as will my boy treetrunklegs and we’re looking to make this an ABC to remember. Keep it locked here as the big date approaches for the nuts and bolts details: http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=26404
In that spirit, here are a few words from my partner in crime, Co-Chairman, treetrunklegs:
“The Europa is an event that is known to iron enthusiasts and fitness nuts the world over. It is a weekend full of strongman, bodybuilding, and powerlifting as well as family events and MMA. I suggest anyone who is available that weekend come down and join G Diesel and myself as we kick off another great gathering in the huge city of Dallas, Texas. If you haven’t experienced Metroflex yet, as I personally have not, why not get into it with ABC movement now and make it that much more personal? There are a few ideas in the works as corporate is trying to iron out the details, but stay tuned. As the days grow closer, more and more will be revealed. I’ll see you all in TX in a few weeks." -TTL
Across the land, other ABC events are scheduled for July 12th in Kansas, July 18th in Pittsburgh, and with gatherings on July 25th in both Iowa and Ohio. Good to see rookie ABCs getting off the ground and veteran crews representing yet again. Speaking of ABC vets, B Con and the boys have an event planned for Western Carolina this coming Saturday, July 11th. To read more about these events or check out those in your area, keep it locked on “The Board” http://forum.animalpak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=71
Florida
Later on in the month, on the 25th, Hercules and the Central Florida Animals have pulled out all the stops to orchestrate the first ever all-strongman ABC gathering, adding an adrenaline shot of pure energy into the heart of the Animal Barbell Club movement http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=26460
Jersey
July has another big event on tap, this time in The U’s backyard, at the revered hardcore haven that is Edison, New Jersey’s Apollon Gym on Saturday, July 18th at 1pm. This one promises to no doubt be a banger and a must-attend for any FORVM members and Animal fans within distance of a road trip. Detroit ABC
This month’s chapter of the month is the Motor City madmen of rcrott1’s ABC crew in Detroit http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=10852
The Motown bad boys have held numerous ABCs, enthusiastically pushing our movement since day one. Much respect and thanks go out to rcrott1 (July’s coordinator of the month), digitalbeast, LegendKillerJosh, mjsef88 and the rest of the boys for their staunch advocacy and for putting the Animal Barbell Club on the map in Michigan. Keep it rollin’, fellas.
Thank you one and all for your dedication and commitment to the iron lifestyle, to Animal and to the ABCs.
Until next time, go hard.
Peace, G Diesel
