Whew! Doesn't look like much but I went into this without eating all day. I was planning on more, but I gassed out to say the least. No spotter, so I decided to play it conservatively.

The pause on the 325 was rather quick. I was just cruising along and I was getting close to failure and I didn't have a spotter, so I decided to not wait around. Might have been too cautious, but you never know until it bites you in the ass. Still a good showing. Work has been getting be down lately, so there hasn't been a lot of motivation to go around. Took advantage of some of the nicer nights lately to do some outdoor cardio.

Things were feeling heavy in my hands, so I decided to do 5 at 320 instead of 10. I also wanted to throw another rep on 365. I likely could have done 8, but I wasn't going to get greedy today. Came back and hit higher reps on the 250, though. The weight moved well enough, but just felt like a heavy load on the secondary muscles. Probably because I'm tired and I don't do anything.
It's all relative. I'm always comparing myself to what has been and what could be. Might not be a wise habit, but it's what I do.
That's kind of a trap. I fell into it too. Probably before I shredded my shoulder, but definitely after. Constantly comparing myself to my past self. Judging myself whenever I would look at my current numbers and thinking how many more reps I used to be able to do with that. I'm more comfortable with myself in the present moment now. I'm less disappointed with myself, less discouraged. I know I can hit a 315 bench press. I haven't even tried. Sure I'm curious and wonder how many reps I could get, but I'm satisfied getting stronger with less weight and higher reps. I get where you're coming from. Another way to look at it is with your current bench numbers, you would be the strongest guy in about 90% of all public gyms. You're still killing it even though you aren't hitting your competition numbers.

50 total reps. I didn't have a lot of time to knock this out, so I decided to see how far I would get in a few minutes. 30 reps on the first set then I pretty much just stood up and walked around for about 10 seconds and then hit another 5 reps. Kinda like a rest/pause set. normally done in about 10 minutes, this was probably 4 minutes. Definitely burning at the end.

Got up earlyish and went to an adjacent town to help a friend of mine change a battery and alternator on his son's girlfriend's absolute hoopty of a jeep. Then I went and benched at his house on a very unstable folding bench. Way to flexy and wiggly for my liking.

Sumo Deadlift
250 x 1 x 5
This one was fast and short. Kind of a "it's better than nothing" workout. The deadlifts were done with a 10 second or so hold at the top in between sets of bench.

I was intending to go for 15 on this set but I was on the wiggly bench and I was running out of gas fast.
I stubbed my little toe bigly yesterday. Pretty much kept a boot on it and didn't really look at it 'til now. It's all purple and the bruising has spread out on my foot and to the toe next door. I knew it was broken, but...yeah...I broked it good.
I've duct taped a jumbo paperclip to it as a splint. Follow me for more tips.
Sounds painful. I love it when someone comes into the ER and all we do is buddy tape the toe to the one next to it and they look at you like "that's it?" And I'm like "I'm not putting a cast on that"

That's why I don't go to the doctor or hospital for this stuff. I am sure it's broke. It's not dislocated. All they are going to do is tape it to the one next to it. Which is exactly what I did.

Not a lot of energy today. Just plain wore out. Not good sleep and work has been really stressing me lately. To much work politics and not enough people that are just there to work.
