Thanks!! Some of it was good, some things need to be worked on. Its getting there, I just need a little more time..
I didn't realize it had been so long since I'd been on here but I benched in the Cage last weekend and I told Gunrock I would come back so here we are.
Sunday at the Arnold: Cage bench: 165*19.
Wanted 20 but whatever it was fun af. Saw some friends, met some ppl. Sorry I missed some of yall it was kinda a last minute thing. Kinda got me thinking about a possible different meet plan for next year, but idk yet we'll see.
Wish we had run into you! It was so hectic that weekend between working and trying to catch up with people, I was lucky to see Higa and Stefi Cohen's squats.

So do I but its all good! I was at the XPC meet pretty much all Saturday to support Bama Burr (that shit was insane to watch! Everyone was crying when she locked out that 550) and I only got to do the cage for a little while Sunday.
Back to Low Bar for the first time in 6 months today. It wasn't a PR but it moved much better than last time I did this weight for these reps and that wasn't my first time doing it in months back then, I'd worked up to it.
Body weight is where it should be. No more training over and cutting for the meet. When I do that my bench always suffers so this time around we doing shit different.
Programmings been real "outside the box" since my push pull which turned into just a push lol. But today I felt it all coming together. Something is planned for soon but I'm keeping it on the low. I will reveal it on here at some point, but exclusively on here only.

Had to make exactly the same experience. With two hour weigh ins cutting a lot of weight just doesn't work for most people. Also it makes meets way less fun.

I haven't done a 2 hour weigh in in years and I definitely don't miss it LOL. Even with a 24 hour I can get the weight back on but the cut still effects my strength -____-
This ended up being a deload wk. Didn't really record what I did. I'll post more later.
A little less than 5 wks out.
BW 167 (was consistently 165 but new supps and Mom visiting made me 167 this week.)
Heavy doubles on the program this week (for squat and DL. Bench is 4s).
Best so far this prep over last 2 weeks:
Squat: 336*3s
Bench: 231*5s
DL: 414*3s
But really I just came here to say that Sarah/ "Ilovecheeseburgers" goes to my gym now and we trained a couple days over the past few weeks! A real life ABC meetup!! I forgot to wear my shirt both times tho so next time I'll remember and post it.
I'll share the #s after its all done. They were small PRs but I feel good about them.
Gonna get close to 1100 this time. Don't know who's competing so idk where I'll place but not gonna check cause it is what it is. All I can do is go for the #s I came for. First full meet prep I programmed myself. Excited to see what it do.
Not like anyone actually reads this shit anymore but I did a meet today and PRd my total by 72 lbs. On my programming, and self coaching.
Got there with plenty of time, but since I'm just generally a mess and take forever to do anything, somehow I ended up having to do my last 3 warmups within 5 minutes. Couldn't change my opener if I wanted to cause by the time I hit my last warmup the time had ran out to do it.
341, 363, 380 for a 11 lb lifetime PR and a 22lb meet PR. And they commented on how deep it was which was cool since I'm always in my head about depth. Quads started cramping at the end but I drank a ton of gatorade carb sodium pedialyte water so it stopped, or so I thought.
Sat there looking at the wall for about an hour bc idk I didn't wana waste energy running around taking and stuff. I was worried about my bench cause my setups been off since that push pull last year. I've been having a lot of problems reaching the ground and I bench heels down so it was annoying and messing me up in training. But this bench was nice and short so I had no problems with that. But then my forearms started cramping. Fortunately there was a guy there who helped me a lot rubbing my stupid arms cause by the time I hit my opener my fingers were involuntary closing which was weird and has never happened before.
237, 248, 259 for a 10lb lifetime PR and 14lb meet PR. And I finally broke my sEcOnD bEnCh AtTemPt cUrSe after 2 years of that bs. When I lowered the bar on second I knew it was going back up. I had planned to try for 253 since bench didn't end great this cycle but I also did not expect to weigh in so light so I said f it lets go for the 100lbs over bodyweight bench. Got it pretty easily. Apparently I jumped the start command cause ppl were yelling and I couldn't hear it but my pause was good and I followed that and the rack commands so I guess the side judges realized what happened and gave me the 2 white lights I needed.
Got worked on to try to prevent the cramps on DL. Felt ok til my last warmup. The tricep started cramping. Shit. Is this gonna be a replay of Chicago?? I didn't take any PWO to pull which is the opposite of my usual slamming a ton of it before DLs cause I felt like that could make it worse. The same guy helped me again and I was able to pull my opener and the 200kgs I've been chasing for a couple years now. On last attempt I entered 457. But my handler said if I did 462 I could total 1100. That's what I had in mind when I came so I said lets send it. 451 would have been a safer attempt but whatever. Went for it, got it almost all the way up and dropped it. Its ok, I'm totally fine with the 440, going 8/9 and winning the whole meet.
Had a good time aside from all the stupid ass cramps. Basically 2/3 of the meet was me just taking it one lift at a time and drinking a ton (finished 2.5 gallons throughout the day), and stuffing my face with actual salt, bugles and whatever other shit I thought would fill me up with sodium but all it did was make me pee a million times and feel like I was gonna break my belt by the time I was pulling. Drove 8.5 hours to get here, pissed several ppl off training for this meet, spent the money I made at the KY derby and the money I was supposed to use for my CSCS on getting here but I won it back and regardless of that it was 100% worth it. I showed myself I could do this myself. Of course I didn't do it myself, my gym's staff, my gym friends, my handlers and my friends who were there at the meet and ppl I met today helped a ton. But I wrote this program. I coached this. 400 squat is coming soon. There was a time when I thought I'd never hit that #. But now I know I will.
So now its back to the drawing board. A lot of quad and grip work will be done. Idk what meet is next. I need to get my career together. I'll still be training of course but not really worried about a meet yet. When it's time I'll know.
Currently doing volume. Naked knees, beltless, etc. Gross but necessary. I get my sleeves back next wk. Yay.
That is all.
Also if anyone still reads this shit pls go to Cage 2017 section and comment on my thread I just posted if yall wana see my proposed idea happen in 2020.
That's cool, didn't know you were working towards that.
So, funny story about that... I took the exam, thought the $400+ I paid for it included them verifying my credentials, and 11 months later my job asks me to send them my certification.... I look it up, nothing is there. I call them and they're like you never sent us your transcripts. I sent them and its fine now, but basically I told ppl I was a CSCS for 11 months, legitimately thinking I was, but I actually wasn't. Lol oops.
Ok so I also did a meet last weekend, but I'll keep this short since nobody wants to read a dramatic ass novel about it:
8/9: 1135@164. 491 Wilks Raw (sleeves).
Squat: 2/3: 385 on second attempt (5lb PR). Got crushed by 402, but its ok. It'll be there next time. I'm happy that I attempted it and didn't die. Kinda messed up my left quad but oh well. I know why and moving forward I will trust myself and my programming more and stop letting people who don't know what they're doing attempt to "help" me.
Bench: 3/3: 275 final attempt. My elbows were shot at the end of prep so I had mentally given up on the 275, but I let my handler call my #s on meet day and I thought my second was 259 but it was actually 264 and it moved fast so we went to the goal # I've been wanting for months and I got it.
DL: 3/3: 474 final attempt. DLs were hit or miss this prep, and I went back and forth for the last couple weeks about hook grip or not. I decided against it during warm ups. In my last 3 years of competing, I've dropped every single one of my 3rd attempt DLs, hook or not. Second (457 I think..?) didn't feel great but whatever, after that it was the last lift of the day so I had to LeAvE iT aLL oN ThE pLaTfoRm.
So yeah, it was a pretty good day for me. Also, I qualified for the Open and I'm doing it! I know some ppl are gonna be like that's out of your league... Well to that I say qualified is qualified so fuck you if you don't like it! I really don't care if I don't win (which I totally don't expect to, since I know who else is competing lol) and I've wanted to do that meet forever and I remember being mad af when I didn't qualify for it so yeah I'm doing it. And this will also give me a reason to finally get back into wraps.
8/9 missed last DL (490)
Had some shoulder injuries for several months before this meet so I went conservative on bench. Sumo suddenly felt good in training so I just went with it for this meet. Felt like sumo again after so switched back to conventional for Oct meet. Was co director of this meet at my gym. Will be the director of it next year.
Dots: 516? Or something like that

8/9 missed last bench (281). Shoulder getting better (~ 95%) but now other arm is fucked up due to me fucking it up at work. It’s fine DL made up for it. Bench PR will come soon. First meet in wraps since 2018 and second meet in wraps ever. Walked out, no mono. Wrapped every other week for 16 or 20 weeks, don’t remember exactly. Started with Inzer grippers, then red Slingshots, then Unbreakable Enforcers at the end of prep and at the meet. If I do wraps next year again I think I’ll be a little more used to them and get a little more out of them: especially in a mono. Idk yet tho we’ll see. First all women meet I’ve done. It was fun, everyone was nice. Met some cool ppl. Won the $$. Was a good time.
Dots: 556 I think they said
