      Elbow Pain

I am familiar with the causes of elbow pain from powerlifting but I am competing this Saturday in a meet and my elbows are feeling beat up.
Does anyone have recommendations to try to alleviate elbow pain for a powerlifting meet?

Chiropractor. They can use dry needles and hook them up to an e-stim machine. It can hurt like hell but once you're done the joints feel AMAZING! They can also do ultrasound treatments a day or two prior to the meet to help alleviate any pain from the previous dry needle/e-stim treatment.

A good Chiropractor can provide a variety of treatments, I'd recommend contacting one ASAP! Don't want your tendons inflamed from treatment too close to a meet so you need to get started.

Use a little bit of Ibuprofen to get the inflammation down and ice your elbows. Wear some elbow sleeves when getting warmed up and keep them on in between lifts. Warm up your elbows before squats. You would be surprised at how much you use your arms holding the bar squatting.

Good advice but those are band aid's. Need to see a chiropractor to get at the root cause of the issue.

Thanks for the advice everyone, elbows felt great at the meet after resting them for a week.

Kickass! Sometimes rest is all it takes. If the problem lingers, try to see a chiro.

Rice bucket, assisted wrist extensions with slow eccentrics, supination/pronation with a light hammer, and shoulder mobility work can really help elbows as far as rehab exercises.

Problem doesnt always lie in the elbow, there can be weakness/instability/hypomobility in the joints distal or proximal that's forcing more stress on the elbow can be a problem. Like If your neck and shoulders have poor mobility or strength then the elbow/tricep may be taking too much force during bench or your squats could have better positioning but mobility is lacking in the shoulder/t-spine and elbow takes more stress, wrist weakness or instability during presses etc etc.
