      It's the need!

All human activity is driven by desire, depending how invested you are will determine how far you're willing to go to get shit done.
      Iron junkies desires are infinite!!
No matter how much we acquire, the desire for more persists.
Our competitive urge may surpass others but it's not our main source of motivation. Our desires
are fueled simply, by the incredible need to lift!!

So the desire for recognition and admiration is also futile for US because it can never really be fully satisfied.

These desires shape our actions, pushing us ever forward even when satiety seems elusive.
Hope you fuckers have a big appetite!!

      Choose wisely.

Lifting we are told, can be quite therapeutic. A rewarding pass time for sure.
For most it’s a means to living a healthier life.
However, shit takes a wicked fucking turn when you start mentioning things like
drive and direction when describing your training.
      Deviating from the script
is what separates the recreational from the relentless.
The iron will ask of you only what you’re willing to give.
Rest assured it's alway happy to accommodate either your stupidity
or your sincerity. We choose. We define our purpose. Be careful what you ask for.

      So, what else is new?

Junkies live in a world of their own design. An existence dedicated to
cultivating a culture of the fanatically devoted. We are quite a collection of unusual
individuals who cling to a training philosophy
that centers around specific, achievable objectives
and the dogged effort to pursue them.
Our reward lies in that consistent effort. It is that consistency that breeds our success! We train smart, We stay committed, and we always embrace the challenge!

Two things I have always remembered since being a kid and watching the original Star Wars Trilogy is this:

      "In my experience, there is no such thing as luck." - Obi Wan talking to Luke and Han Solo in A New Hope (first one in Star Wars 4, 5 & 6);
"Do or do not, there is not try." - Yoda talking to Luke in Empire Strikes Back.

Both are very true statements. I have always said, sanity is overrated as I am nuts; however, society seems to relentlessly pursue what the globalist social engineers say is "sane" or "normal/normative behavior". I never understood that. Than again, crazy peoples' brains cannot be programmed =) =)

      Nothing normal about it.

This process of “OURS” gives us a profound sense of order
and predictability. The “Process”? Doing the right things 100% of the time!
The junkie finds refuge in this ritualistic
approach. It’s this repetitive nature that provides
      structure and accomplishment.
For many, lifting is a trendy, casual pastime
the junkie on the contrary constantly flirts with that sensible
      balance, bordering on obsession.
If you ever feel that your commitment is escalating to an
unhealthy level, fear not for it just means
you’re on the right fucking track!

Not for the faint of heart…

Staying motivated to lift consistently can be challenging.
The junkie however doesn’t need to find their “Why”
Having a clear path certainly helps to maintain motivation
      but our purpose lies deeper.
Defining this appeal goes beyond building muscle,
      losing weight, or enhancing performance.
      It’s an overreaching intention
that gives our existence meaning. In short,
You gotta’ need this shit like air!
Specific goals help keep you focused for so long
but without the fervent need to pursue those goals
you’re just pissing in the wind.
      Your workouts are important appointments,
missing one can’t be rescheduled. But then again if you’re one of US,
      why the fuck would you!

      Be prepared!

The junkie defines what is needed to achieve
by devising an ever evolving strategy that encourages
our muscles to adapt and grow.
      Consistency is obviously key,however
progress does take it’s sweet ass time.
And that’s only if you’re fortunate enough
      to train without interruptions.
      Good fucking luck with that!!
      Experiencing incidents,accidents,plateaus
and injuries are to be expected at some point
Suffice it to say it will make things a little more interesting.
Exploring every viable option should be considered at such point
to make the necessary adjustments in order to continue the quest to greatness!!
Those who fail to prepare, prepare to FAIL!

      Can’t explain it.

The pursuit of personal growth and self-improvement are
      by many considered, noble endeavors.
Mastering a new skill or reaching
academic milestones will assuredly get you kudos.
Here’s where the fucking water gets muddied.
The junkie who possesses similar aspirations,
Tho not aligning with a “Recognizable” standard
has been frowned upon for investing time in such a
“Wasteful” pursuit. Our need to set challenging training goals and
striving to surpass them apparently serves no real purpose in today’s
      society. I guess it’s just a junkie thing. Fuck’em!

      Not that hard...

Purity and simplicity. 2 words you
wouldn't expect to hear when describing
the training methods of the fucking obsessed.
In reality these 2 words quite accurately
identify what is necessary for longevity
in the iron game. Relying on proven,
      established training principles and
not succumbing to the allure of the
trendy and misleading can avoid a
      lot of painful setbacks. Incorporating
a fundamental approach that adheres to
      proper nutrition, training and recovery
is pretty academic. You'd think. However some
of these geniuses will try to convince you otherwise.
The devoted junkie understands using a deliberate, well
formulated attack provides continued, long term success.
Whose idea was it to complicate simplicity anyways!

      It’s not for everybody

      The junkies needs keep evolving.
In order to minimize the severity
      of training related issues that
      normally befall a committed
      iron addict it is essential
      to recognize problematic scenarios.
This is where the junkies intuitive nature
      becomes integral.
Adapting if and when necessary spares the
lifter potential long term setbacks. With all this fucking
spewing of the obvious it baffles me why those
who claim to be serious lifters still do questionable shit!
The list is endless. A true junkie lives for the next workout.
Small incremental gains come from a sustainable effort.
By attrition we ascend. No place for overbearing false bravado,
Ego lifting, and the insane use of PED’s. We build our foundations
      on rock not sand.

      The obsession with lifting, can
      be attributed to several factors.
The most obvious, the physical benefits.
      Increased muscle mass, improved strength,
      the typical superficial bullshit!
These tangible results alone can be motivating
      for most. For the junkie
It’s this love of lifting that fosters a sense
of purpose. The junkies relationship however is not
      one sided.
The iron needs us as much as we need it.
For without us the iron sits idle not serving it’s purpose.
It’s this bond that keeps the love affair going.

I never could understand logically why people think getting into and staying in shape was taboo. We all played sports during our adolescent years and people ALWAYS look back saying, "I used to be in such great shape!"

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell why don't you GET BACK TO IT! It's really not hard to eat a little better and go for long walks around your neighborhood. It's the LEAST people could do.

Way back when children, lifting, believe or not was not a socially acceptable
      activity.Discouraged by coaches because
the belief was you would become “Muscle bound”
Calisthenics was plenty enough. I passed up playing varsity ball
because of that stupidity. I had 17” inch arms as a junior in high school.
I was ostracized. People got the impression I was socially stunted.
You guys have absolutely no idea. Going out to eat for example some random
person would come and grab my arm and ask if it was real. And than there’s the fucking
comments how “All that’s going turn to fat when you quit”.

Literally my grandfather, “it’s all just going to turn to flubber”

In hindsight, I should have asked “is that what happened to you?” But that probably wouldn’t have been good
