      I Command You to Grow!!!

Who hasn’t found some kind of inspiration or motivation from CT Fletcher? I had an evaluation at physical therapy today and on the way home I started thinking about him for some reason. This past year, more than that now, has been an experience for me. As soon as I turned 49 it was like a switch went off in my body. Everything functioned differently. Then came the shoulder injury. It’s been quite an experience both mentally and physically. I also work in one of the busiest ERs in my state. My wife has been trying to talk me into doing some other kind of nursing because my job is also physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. Anyway, CT Fletcher went through this whole ordeal with his heart and he’s still pushing through. No he’s not doing anything competitive anymore. Same with big Ronnie Coleman. The guy is still doing what he can. Once I can train again I’ll have to reinvent my game too. I still have a body of knowledge and experience to pass on as well. I think that’s one reason I don’t want to give up the ER too. I feel like my personal experiences with injuries and illness make me a better nurse than some kid out of school. Sure they can run around more and still go out for a beer after work, but I can connect better with people. So my point is that there’s more growth to be had than just adding another plate to a bar or another inch to your biceps. I may have lost 40-45 lbs since this leg of my journey started, but when I come back I’ll be better for it. Don’t look at setbacks as an ending but as an opportunity to grow in a different direction
